ABC Dance Studio Company is a program where students have the chance to greatly improve in the area of dance that suits them best. Last year we saw an astonishing improvement in all of our Company students. Since these classes were designed with the intention to motivate and prepare those students who want to take dance more seriously, classes will be moving at a much faster pace. The students whom we feel are ready, will be attending at least 2 regional dance competitions and 1 national dance competition in the upcoming year, we feel that it builds up confidence and gives on stage experience. Students will also participate in several other special event performances which will be scheduled throughout the year. The Company's broad and versatile repertoire ranges from Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Acrobatics, Lyrical, Modern and Contemporary.
Requirements:
- All auditions are scheduled for Saturday July 24th from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
8:00-10:00 – Dancers 8-11 years old
10:00-12:00 – Dancers 12-14 years old
12:00-2:00 – Dancers 15-19 years old
- Participants must fill out an audition registration form by July 21st (forms are available at our main location)
- Participants must be at least 8 years old and no older than 18 years old
- Participants must wear:
- Black Leotard
- Pink Convertible tights
- Hair in a neat bun
- Must bring ballet shoes, jazz shoes, and whichever shoes are required to perform solo
- At Least two years of previous dance training
- Must have a 1 minute solo prepared in one of the following styles:
- Ballet
- Jazz
- Hip hop
- Tap
- Lyrical
- Contemporary
- Modern
- Strong Jazz and Ballet training required
- Ability to learn new choreography and Styles
- Good stage presence and personality
- One year of dance company commitment
- Observers are not permitted during auditions
Auditions will take place at ABC Dance Studio's main location. Notification of audition results will be mailed to the auditioning dancers in writing within approximately two weeks of the audition. If accepted, company members are required to attend all rehearsals and classes. Rehearsals will take place on week days and weekends throughout the year.
